I have been part of outreaches to Skid Row since I was 10 years old. It started with me spending a whole day at the Mission shredding coleslaw with an antique-looking piece of machinery.
Since then there have been endless trips down there serving the less fortunate with clothing donations, handing out treats & toiletry bags, distributing blankets, and food deliveries. There are too many to list. Below are some recent ones.
9/23/2023 Passing out fruit and chips along with street-cooked meals.
9/2/2023 Delivering and handing out 16 boxes of shoes and clothes as well as Bombas Socks, several hundred nutritional bars, and cold drinks.
8/24/2023 This is a super exciting day. A truck drove up and delivered 20 large packages containing 400 donated brand-new blankets. The enormity of the load was a little overwhelming at first but what a blessing.
These will come in very handy once the weather turns cooler. The blankets are all going to be passed out at Skid Row to benefit the unhoused.
